Rite Aid has funded Catholic Charities USA, a pro-life organization. However, Rite Aid has also funded United Way and Girls Inc, organizations that support abortion. United Way has funded Planned Parenthood programs. Girls Inc advocates for legal abortions and has also partnered with Planned Parenthood programs. Rite Aid has also contributed to the American Red Cross. In its 2011 publication, “Eliminating Health Inequities,” The International Federation of Red Cross cited a United Nations report that said, “states must take measures to ensure that legal and safe abortion services are available, accessible, and of good quality.” The publication also recommended governments include family planning in their efforts to eliminate health inequities.
