As a global retail giant, it’s not necessary for Amazon (1.3 – Liberal) to align itself politically in order to try and improve business. But with support for organizations such as USHCC (Immigration), HRC (Marriage & Religious Liberty) and multiple pro-abortion organizations, it’s clear that Amazon is picking sides.
Through all of that support, Amazon isn’t getting any in return when it comes to building a new headquarters — not even from its leftist “allies.”
Amazon had to pull out of its plan to build a New York City headquarters thanks to opposition from “a number of state and local politicians…” who “…will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required to go forward with the project…”. Outspokenly included in that number is the headline-friendly and far-left Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who took to Twitter to voice her elation when she found that Amazon had cancelled all plans involving New York.
So we’re asking Amazon:
Is it really worth it to choose sides? Especially when the some of the most outspoken members of the side you chose vehemently oppose you?
It might be time for Amazon to rethink their corporate support of certain organizations and move toward a more neutral and business-friendly stance.
