Gun Control Film “Miss Sloane” Is a Box Office Flop

Apparently moviegoers weren’t thrilled with the gun control film “Miss Sloane,” which debuted over the Thanksgiving holiday, and only brought in a measly $1.9 million in sales.

However, the film’s female lead, Jessica Chastain, has nailed a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination for her role as Miss Sloane in the subpar film. Earning a score of 69 percent from Rotten Tomatoes, “Miss Sloane” was projected to earn more since the debut, but has fallen short, according to Fox News. The film follows Chastain as she leaves her prestigious law firm to ensure a background check bill passes in congress.

This film isn’t a surprise with left-leaning Hollywood continually trying to promote liberal ideals through their television shows and films. However, 2ndVote recently reported on Mark Wahlberg’s thoughts about Hollywood actors drowning America with their opinions on politics stating:

“A lot of celebrities did, do, and shouldn’t [talk politics],” he told Task & Purpose magazine. “They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table. You don’t pay their bills. A lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble. They’re pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family.”
