Company Contrast: Starbucks {Issues: Basic Freedoms}

Each week 2ndVote takes a look at popular companies that either score well or score poorly  and then try to provide alternatives that either better align with the 2ndVote values or should be avoided to the best of your ability. This series is called The Company Contrast, and the company we will be focusing on this week is Peet’s Coffee (3.00) and Blue Angel Coffee (3.00).

While it can often be difficult to find brands and companies that are willing to stand out and stand up for traditional American values in this age of “wokeness”, sometimes the best we can do is shop with those companies that have, at the very least, chosen to abstain from the heated political debates and moral dilemmas facing the nation and its markets. Two of such examples are Peet’s Coffee and Blue Angel Coffee. Through 2ndVote’s research efforts, both coffee brands were found to lack, or at least not display, any activism with a particular socio-political leaning. For this, we can be thankful considering the strongly liberal leanings of most other coffee options available to consumers; both store-bought and brick-and-mortar. And if neither of these brands are to your taste, 2ndVote shoppers should always consider supporting their local coffee shops. Local businesses are much more likely to be uninvolved in politics and it’s never a bad thing to keep your dollars in your community, benefitting your local economy, your neighbors, and yourself.

Of course, one such brand that should be avoided is Seattle’s Best Coffee (Starbucks owned 1.17). Being an off-shoot, store-bought brand owned by Starbucks, purchasing a bag of Seattle’s Best unfortunately means a bitter taste from the activist baggage that comes along with it. As always, 2ndVote shoppers should try reaching out to Starbucks and Seattle’s Best, either through our website or otherwise, to convey your displeasure with their “woke” philanthropy.

As always, do not be afraid to use your voice and call out Starbucks for their woke culture by contacting them directly using the link hereWe also want to commend Peet’s Coffee and Blue Angels Coffee for standing up for our American values, so feel free to reach out and pass along a job well-done with these links here: Peet’s Coffee and Blue Angel Coffee.
