Conservative leaders are joining with 2ndVote to demand Bank of America come clean on past donations to Planned Parenthood and end all financial support for the abortion giant.
2ndVote’s research uncovered archived webpages listing Bank of America as a “bronze sponsor” for Planned Parenthood’s “Spring into Action Gala” on May 1, 2018 and a “corporate sponsor” for a May 2, 2017centennial celebration.
According to a letter obtained by 2ndVote, Bank of America had previously led customers to believe that the bank’s support of Planned Parenthood’s abortion business was limited to an employee matching gift program.
Equipped with 2ndVote’s research, Justin Danhof of the National Center for Public Policy Research confronted Bank of America leadership at this week’s annual shareholders meeting. While executives initially defended the so-called “matching gifts” with canned responses, they were unable to account for the evidence presented showing the sponsorships of Planned Parenthood’s fundraising galas.
Danhof stated, “If Bank of America wants to spend its investors’ money to fund the abortion industrial complex, it has that right. However, the bank’s direct sponsorship of Planned Parenthood is highly offensive to tens of millions of pro-life Americans, many of whom may choose to boycott the company’s services. And those Americans need to contact Bank of America and other corporate supporters of Planned Parenthood if we are going to effectuate real corporate change.”
Bank of America’s donations to Planned Parenthood fund the destruction of future customers and employees, yet the company appears to be keeping this information from its customers and investors. 2ndVote will continue to monitor this story as it continues to develop.
