27 Mar In-the-News Update [Issue: Basic Freedoms]
Tennessee draft legislation HB0800/SB1216 prohibits the state board of education from approving or granting a waiver for using textbooks and instructional materials that promote, normalize, support, or address lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, or transgender issues or lifestyles. That’s the shortened, simplified version of the bill’s summary that basically stops Tennessee schools from promoting sex and LGBT lifestyles. Fortunately, the bill passed on March 28.
