Alaska residents are on alert after learning about the possibility of a volcanic eruption on one of its islands. The Tanaga volcano located in Aleutians Alaska, started to show signs of a possible eruption after there was a detection of seismic activity around it. The Volcano Observatory claimed that there was an earthquake recorded at a 3.9 magnitude. They have even observed seismic events happening at a rate of several per minute causing a “volcanic eruption watch” advisory to be put in place. Tanaga is not the only volcano that is under close supervision. The Takawangha volcano has also shown possibilities of erupting as well. The observatory claimed that if there were to be an eruption, they are not yet certain which volcano would erupt.
