13 Sep The Company Contrast – Gap
Each week 2ndVote takes a look at a popular company that scores poorly on the 2ndVote scoring system, and then provides some better alternatives for you to easily align your shopping dollars with your values. This series is called The Company Contrast, and the company we will be focusing on this week is Gap (1.9- Liberal).
Gap is a clothing and accessories brand that is owned by Gap Inc, which also owns Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta, and Intermix. Even though Gap is a popular clothing store, purchasing items there undermines your values based on their continuous support of a leftist agenda.
Gap scores a 1.9 on 2ndVote’s scoring system because of its contribution to YWCA, which supports same-sex marriage and opposes “Stand Your Ground” laws. Gap also contributes to different organizations that are pro-abortion. To see all of the reasons Gap scores so poorly, you can click on their company page here.
Fortunately, when you need to go shopping for clothes or accessories, but don’t want to sacrifice your conservative views, there are better alternatives out there. Aeropostale (3- Neutral) is a great place to shop without sacrificing your values. This company’s neutral stance on issues and commitment to its customers is why 2ndVote has deemed it a better alternative to Gap.
