The Company Contrast – Navigating the Non-Profits {Issue: Life}

Each week 2ndVote takes a look at popular companies or organizations that either score well or score poorly.  We then try to provide alternatives that either better align with the 2ndVote values or should be avoided to the best of your ability. Now we’d like to expand into nonprofits. This series is called The Company Contrast – Navigating the Non-Profits, and the charitable organizations we will be focusing on this week are a group of staunchly pro-life nonprofits.

Whether you are feeling charitable or maybe it’s that time of year again when you make your regular donations, you may not always know what causes to support or who are the best nonprofits that advocate for the issues you care about. As for the issue of Life, it is widely known that organizations like Planned Parenthood (1.21) and those that fund them like Susan G. Komen (2.71) are among the worst advocates for abortion.

However, you can rest assured that there are great organizations on the other hand that work tirelessly to protect infant life. The organizations featured this week are the Family Research Council (5.00), the American Family Association (5.00), and Abort 73 (3.29). Through a strong pro-life message and involvement in numerous pro-life activities, FRC and AFA both score highly on the issue of life, but also receive high marks across the board for demonstrating support on all of the 2ndVote key issues. Although Abort 73 stands neutral on all other key issues, they received a top score on Life due to it being their primary focus and purpose as a nonprofit organization.
