15 Nov The Company Contrast – Victoria’s Secret
Each week 2ndVote takes a look at a popular company that scores poorly on the 2ndVote scoring system and then provides some better alternatives for you to easily align your shopping dollars with your values. This series is called The Company Contrast, and the company we will be focusing on this week is Victoria’s Secret (1-liberal).
Victoria’s Secret is the largest American retailer of lingerie and is part of L Brands. Even though Victoria’s Secret is a popular place to shop for clothes or fragrances, shopping there undermines your values based on their continuous support of the leftist agenda.
Victoria’s Secret scores a 1 on 2ndVote’s scoring system because of its contribution to YWCA, which supports same-sex marriage and opposes “Stand Your Ground” laws. Victoria’s Secret also contributes to different organizations that are pro-choice. To see all of the reasons Victoria’s Secret scores so poorly, you can click on their company page here.
Fortunately, when you want to go shopping for clothes but don’t want to sacrifice your conservative views, there are better alternatives out there. Hanes and Jockey are great companies to shop at without sacrificing your values. Their neutral stance on issues and commitment to its customers is why 2ndVote has deemed them better alternatives to Victoria’s Secret.
