The Good in Men: A Better Dad

2ndVote readers are sending in their personal stories about “the good in men.” Please be sure to read about these real men and the impact they have had on their family and community. In honor of these men, we’ll be gifting an Égard watch (3.00-neutral) to a deserving man selected from these stories this Father’s Day.

Kathy G. writes:

My husband is my girls’ step-dad but the way he showers love on them is above and beyond what he needs to do. He has gone to work 7 days a week even when he’s sick to make sure the girls (adults with children) get what they need. He has gone without taking a dime for himself for over two years unless I make him take just a few dollars for all of his hard work. If he finds out the kids or grandkids need “anything” he is always right there. He always tells them he loves them and has big bear hugs. I couldn’t have asked for a better dad for my children. They finally know what the real love of a dad is like (their biological father is extremely abusive).
