2ndVote readers have sent in some great personal stories about “the good in men.” Please be sure to read the collection we’ve put together and share these stories as we work to correct misleading notion that masculinity is somehow “toxic.”
In honor of the men who embody the values we celebrate, 2ndVote gifting an Égard watch (3 – Neutral) to a deserving man selected from these stories this Father’s Day.
Dianne in Florida writes:
I am a 61 year old mother of three, two girls and one boy (or should I say now, two wonderful ladies and one awesome gentleman?)
On March 7th of this year, while running, I was hit by a large pickup truck. Fortunately, the truck wasn’t moving fast. However, help was needed and help was on the way, even though I hadn’t asked.
I live in Florida, my two daughters in North Carolina, and my son in Oregon.
I was hit on Thursday, by the weekend my son had made plans and was in Florida on Saturday, with no plans for when he would return. He, with the support of his precious wife, put his life on hold to take care of Mom.
I hadn’t even realized how much I needed him until he was here! He stayed for an entire week, going to doctors appointments with me, cooking for us, and running errands.
This 33 year old man, who will always be my baby is now, also, my hero. (He still checks on me through the weeks and has access to my chiropractor, who continues with my treatments.)
A man who has a heart he can listen to and follow. A man who puts others before himself. It’s not about money or even responsibility, it’s about love, the real thing.
Thank you, Thomas, more than words!
