12 Jun The Good in Men: This Sheep Rancher Took Care of His Flock
2ndVote readers are sending in their personal stories about “the good in men.” Please be sure to read about these real men and the impact they have had on their family and community. In honor of these men, we’ll be gifting an Égard watch (3.00-neutral) to a deserving man selected from these stories this Father’s Day.

My dad. It’s been seven years since he passed and I miss him every day. He grew up on a ranch and was herding sheep alone for days at age 11. He taught me the value of work, he taught me to build and fix things. He taught me the value of helping others and being grateful. He was a barber and ran his shop as a side business. I drive the truck he left me when he died. Its toolbox is as he left it and I can no longer count the times I have needed something and there it was…A few years ago I took up blacksmithing and opened a part-time small business. He didn’t live long enough to see the things I have learned to make, but his spirit is with me every day in the name…Iron Shepherd Forge…for he was a sheep rancher and he took care of his flock.
Thank you, Mike, for your contribution!
