Unofficial “shopping holidays” like Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday have turned the days after Thanksgiving into a consumption frenzy. However, given the reason for the Christmas season, Giving Tuesday signals an appropriate break and reminder to give back.
At 2ndVote we endorse Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to supporting communities and charitable organizations that do good work. It helps refocus people from consumerism to Christmas – which, this year, is only 29 days away.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit, 2ndVote’s work depends on the generous gifts from our supporters. Anything you can donate will go towards helping conservative shoppers see their value in the marketplace. But, we also promote the support of charities that align with our values. For example, pro-life pregnancy resource centers help women considering abortion choose life. These centers – attacked by the abortion industry on a daily basis – provide free services to women in need. Some even provide adoption assistance, maternity housing, and ultrasounds.
As we wrote last month, there are many excellent non-profits which truly do amazing charity around America and the world. Here are just a few to consider sending your 2ndVote dollars to tomorrow:
- 2ndVote (Really. We do a lot of good, but we can always do more when you support us!)
- The Salvation Army
- Human Coalition
- Samaritan’s Purse
- Catholic Charities
- The National Rifle Association
- The Alliance Defending Freedom
Be sure to use our database to find out where charitable organizations stand on the issues. While many do good work around the country some organizations like United Way and the March of Dimes continue to support Planned Parenthood.
As always, thank you for your generous support this Giving Tuesday.
