03 Feb An Open Letter To Iowans: Use Your First and 2ndVote
Iowa’s Democratic caucuses are today. There are a number of candidates who will be considered. As a non-profit, we don’t take a stance on who Democratic caucus-goers should support – but once they leave the caucuses, we urge them to use their 2ndVote to stop a politically influential and morally abhorrent group which violates all manner of human rights and American values: Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood is one of the nation’s most influential organizations. Its primary mission is to make abortion as widely available as possible – including up to birth and it’s going to spend $45 million this year to make that happen, including on the taxpayers’ dime.
Contrary to its brand, Planned Parenthood doesn’t provide women’s healthcare. It is a political machine that kills children, harms women, and breaks the law to protect sexual abusers.
So why are corporations donating tens or hundreds of millions of dollars to keep it going? Why did Bank of America lie about its financial support for Planned Parenthood?
The answer is simple: because they think they can get away with it. While many Americans do support abortion under most circumstances through the first trimester, which is when most abortions are done, the majority of American people oppose late-term abortions and support basic pro-life protections like parents knowing if their children are having abortions.
Planned Parenthood supports killing unborn children who can feel pain. It supports pushing teenagers into early sexual relationships and abortions. And it supports forcing taxpayers to pay for it all.
Iowans, we can’t tell you to whom you should give your first vote. But we can certainly urge you to boycott Bank of America and Planned Parenthood’s other corporate backers until our nation’s largest abortion company stops violating the right to life – without which liberty and the pursuit of happiness cannot exist.
