The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is holding its National Convention this week in Miami Beach, Florida. According to the organization’s website, the USHCC represents 4.1 million Hispanic-owned businesses across the country.
However, this business coalition has also taken startling positions on matters of immigration policy. Our research team has found that the USHCC, as a member of the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, specifically asked Members of Congress to vote against legislation that would cut funding for sanctuary cities that have enacted lawless policies to prevent law enforcement from coordinating with immigration officials. Other liberal organizations like LULAC and La Raza are also members of the NHLA coalition that support sanctuary city policies along with the USHCC.
We included Immigration as an issue 2nd Vote scores because we found some of the largest companies in our database were funding advocacy in support of these dangerous sanctuary policies. By hamstringing law enforcement, sanctuary cities have allowed criminals to avoid deportations and commit more crimes.
The corporate sponsors of the USHCC and other groups enable the efforts to keep these senseless policies in place and, furthermore, keep law-abiding citizens at risk. Below you’ll find a list of the companies sponsoring the USHCC’s Convention this week. Remember, these corporations help fund advocacy for irresponsible, and downright dangerous, sanctuary city policies.
