22 Jul The 2ndVote Experience: Volunteer Edition
By: 2ndVote Volunteer
I am so grateful I have had the opportunity to volunteer my time with 2ndVote. As a retired teacher and a mother of four grown children, I am so happy I have chosen to be a part of a team working so hard to empower us and protect our basic freedoms for the next generations!
Upon reading a 2ndVote ad on social media a while ago, I was excited and relieved to learn how they were leading in efforts to combat wokeness by providing alternatives for consumers and businesses. Then, after spending time on the 2ndVote website, I knew I wanted to become more involved through volunteering because of their values — Life, 2nd Amendment, Basic Freedoms (Speech, Worship, Press), Education, Civil Society, and Environmental Stewardship — align with my own.
Further, like many of us who share these values, watching the abrupt shifts in our society away from them has been difficult to endure. Experiencing both elected and unelected persons and entities carry out woke agendas that counter our beliefs, being shadow banned on social media accounts, seeing our children affected by such radical societal changes, and other similar happenings, have made me even more determined to help 2ndVote in their efforts to expose corporations and organization funding leftist agendas.
While volunteering with 2ndVote, I have had great support and encouragement from other volunteers and 2ndVote team members. Brainstorming and sharing ideas from our own communities about how to add value in moving the mission forward has been a key to my own learning and helping share information with others.
One goal of mine has been to figure out how to take back my family’s spending power and help other like-minded friends, families, and community members do the same! 2ndVote’s Shopping Guide has been a necessary tool that has helped empower us to shop our values locally and online. I like to wear my 2ndVote t-shirt while shopping locally to strike up conversations when opportunities present themselves. I also like to send out 2ndVote information and videos through my social media chats and groups.
The best part about volunteering for 2ndVote is being able to work within my skill set. Getting to know the other volunteers has helped me understand we all bring something unique to the 2ndVote group. We all can advance the mission in a way that works for us and the communities we are hoping to inform.
So, whatever your gifts and talents, please consider being a part of the 2ndVote team of volunteers. Whether connecting with others in my community personally or through social media, volunteering helps me get the word out that our first vote is at the ballot box, and our second vote is with our wallet!
